Tools to Get Blogging Done

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008 | Blogging with 1 Comment

ScribefireToday Kevin Purdy at Lifehacker wrote a really nice post with 10 tools to get blogging done. There are some really great tools in that list that I never thought of before, like the Copy Link Text Firefox extension and the AutoCopy Firefox extension for example. Small extensions that can speed up the work. Sure it is only about a few seconds but if you are doing a lot of blogging it can be really useful.

I only use two tools for my blogging and that is Scribefire for Firefox and Photobucket. Scribefire helps me blogging on several different blogs from one window. I don’t have to log in to every one of them, which I found very annoying after a while. It’s also a big plus that I can search through Flickr images in it!
I’ve been testing Windows Live Writer as well but it didn’t work as the way I wanted it to, and I had several errors with it. But Scribefire really does the job, and I’m thankful for that!

Since Photobucket added their advanced image editor to their services I have used it to cut down and edit the images to my liking. No software needed which is nice. It goes fast to get it done. It’s only when I’m going to edit an image in a more advanced way that I use Photoshop.

What tools do you use when you get your blogging done?

The joys of online shopping

What to do when the weather is bad or you don’t want to stand in line for hours?
The easy answer is, shop on the internet!
A great way to both spend money and in some cases save some too.

If you want a bit of a thrill and like to look for that special thing to buy, internet auctions are the way to go.

Ebay is just the thing, browse through the auctions and find just that special something that you didn’t knew you needed but just have to have! It may be a bit nerve-wrecking when battling another buyer that last minute of the auction but the satisfaction of a win will give you a shopping high.

Another favorite of mine on the subject is http://www.etsy.com. Loads of handmade goods from all over the world. There are mostly American sellers but they have a search you can use for local vendors. Use the site for inspiration or buy presents for people you like including yourself. Maybe it will get you crafting and can sell something yourself?

And I’m closing with a classic, http://www.amazon.com/. It may feel like they have been around since the beginning of the internet but they have a good selection and I use it when looking for a good book.

Internet is also a great way to compare prices easily and make the best deal on your shopping spree. Have fun when shopping and landing the good deals. Or maybe just window-shop until the weather is nice again.

Scheduled Post Publishing on Blogger

Today Blogger announced a new feature to all their bloggers, it’s called schedules post publishing. Which means that you can write posts and schedule them in the feature, so you can leave for vacation and no one will notice! It’s also good if you are feeling extra creative one day, then you don’t have to publish them all at once.

A great future! Finally!
