Since I have been away for quite some time I have been worried that my computer would be damaged during the move and that I would loose all my files. However, I decided to use IDrive Online Backup, which is a leading online backup service provider. They offer safe and encrypted online backups up to 2GB for free and 150GB storage for $4.95 per month.

I used the free plan and I’m really satisfied with it. The upload went pretty fast and since I’ve heard so much good about them, it felt comfortable to leave the files there.

They also have other features that I’m going to use when I’ve unpacked my new desk and installed both of my computers. Some of them are real time backup of frequently changing data, scheduled backup which is really nifty, ability to manage multiple accounts from one main admin account, supports backup of mapped drives and file versioning with file/document history retention for up to 30 backed up versions.

Another good feature that I really like is that IDrive also provides browser access to the backed up data with amazingly fast searching options. So if I’m at work I can easily access my files, useful for my mini-emergencies!
