Craftsters unite!

CraftyI believe there is a new craft-boom in town. Or in this case on the internet.
In the 60’s and 70’s the hype was all about handmade and being eco-friendly and in the 80’s everyone was knitting sweaters.
But this time around it’s also about being creative and expressing yourself.

Nothing is wrong and everything goes are definitively words that buzz the scene. I’ve seen everything from knitting lamp-posts a nice cover to embroidered screen shots from video games. Nostalgia is a thing with us born in the 80’s and reinventing our childhood memories in new techniques are both satisfying and fun!

CrochetKnitting and crocheting are happening in cafés and bars, and a embroidery fits well in your purse and can be worked on during bus and train-rides. Why not meet new people with the same interest and start a craft-circle? A great way to learn new things and get to know people at the same time. And you have to be prepared to meet curious people when crafting outside your home and see many raised eyebrows. Why not be a part of the crafting revolution and bring it to people not in the know yet.

On the internet there’s many a’ page for the craftster in us. Namely one of the biggest is indeed http://www.craftster.org, a message board where people can post their creations and admire others and of course get new ideas.

So get your crafting going, Google the internet and make some nice magnets for mom or maybe an embroidered card for dad.
And remember, a home sewn plushie always brings a smile to a child (and yourself).
