I love Asterix-cartoons. I grew up with them. I haven’t seen the humanoid-films they’ve made with Asterix and Obelix and I probably never will. To me it would be to destroy the childhood memories somewhat.

This latest about the Vikings (*ahem*) doesn’t have the old finish as the other films does. It has a very new CG-finish to it implementing cartoon and 3d graphics at the same time. And it’s not that it was poorly done, it was just very different from what I’m used to when watching Asterix.

Normally I watch it dubbed with Norwegian or Danish. But this time I picked English to see what the English voices are like. Will they be as annoying as the Swedes? Or will it be okey? And it was quite well. Clear speech on many of them with elaborate good jokes all through the film. My absolute favourite “Typical Asterix and Obelix-moment” is when they’re trying to find the North Star in the fog. When you see it, you’ll know what I mean.

I hope they make more Asterix-films!
