    Hey,
Dunna if anyone had this but the first drivers (webcam.rar) file seems to be currupt, downloads fine, just cant extract the file, says unexpected end of archive, the file is currupt :’(

    guuuuting…

The other drivers you posted, are the ones i have on the cd. i still havn’t sent the webcam back yet, so im gonna try them on my old pc as that dosent have sp2 installed like this one.. maby it makes a difference… time vill tell.. time vill tell.

These are the drivers I have available.
the rar does the same thing to me, but its because i use winzip. For some reason it doesn’t like rar-files.

I have SP2 installed, so that itself should not necessarily be a problem.

A thing you can check for is that if you have the 301x or some other digit marking another line of webcams.

    You can check out http://members.driverguide.com

 No way to have this webcam working with XPSP2 ?
I complained to VIMICRO and asked for an upgraded version of the driver - but they don’t even answer…
    What a shame !

I think we should all complain and ask for a refund !

    ************

I bought two so that I could see my kids while I’m away on business. I have xp-sp1-sp2 on my laptop and it works fine because I run it through a usb-2.0 cardbus. Don’t know why but apparently this is a fix of some sort! Won’t work on my 1.1 internal. Can’t get it to work by any means on my wife’s PC with ME. I get the same results with your download that I got with the cd. At least I’m batting .500!! Thanks for attempting to fix my problem.

I am currently running Windows XP Pro with SP2. When trying to install the driver I keep getting an install shield error. If anyone has any idea why this is happening can you please post. I have tried all driver versions including the latest ones on DriverGuide (usbVM31b.zip) with no luck.

I have also read alot of mixed posts regarding WindowsXP Pro and how it works with some and not with others which comes down to a hardware/software conflict of some sort. Anyone that is using WindowsXP Pro and has the camera working, can you list your computer specs for me regarding your video card, ram, cpu so I can try and figure out this problem.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

I purchased a Vimicro webcam recently. Had nightmares trying to get it to work on XP. It just doesn’t want to play. I found a way round, may help others??

On the disc all I could see was Setup.exe, right mouse and go to Properties.
Drop down menu to read, Run this programme in compatibility mode for Windows 2000.

Then tick box for Input Settings, to allow, Turn off advanced text settings for this programme.

Well, it worked for me.. Good luck.

But its not that sensitive to record my voice and the shop staff asked me to set the “advanced function” under the Mic column at the lower right corner of “volume” icon in the Window.

Anyone has encountered the same problem and how do u fix it?

I purchased a VIMICRO webcam from eBay last month. It’s a YSUNS 1.2M Pixel with the 6 infared lights, and a clip for a notebook or desktop. I could never get the driver to install following the really short instructions that came with it. Here’s how I finally got it to install. With my computer on (Windows XP SP2), I plugged the webcam into the USB port. When Windows detected it, I chose “YES” to let Windows install it, instead of hitting “Cancel” as the instructions say to do. When Windows asked to search for a driver, I browsed to the CD, found the setup.exe file, and clicked OK. Windows installed it perfectly. I hope this will help some of you. It’s actually a pretty good little camera for the little bit that I paid for it.

    Pierce // April 23rd, 2006 at 1:04 am

Vimicro makes the sensor chip, some other manufacturers make the webcams. So Vimicro can only provide a generic driver, which is like the one posted here. I have a webcam using this chip (Zc0301PL) that has 6 LED lights. The driver that came on its CD seem to be a modified one. It has an additional check box for “low light”.

Both the generic driver and the modified one work on my 3 PCs (XP SP2), except for one thing… According to the Chinese instructions that came with the webcam, the driver should have a setting to turn the LED to On, Off, or Auto. The screenshot, with Chinese wordings, shows the option but the driver doesn’t have such setting. The “low light” check box does absolutely nothing regardless whether I check it. The LEDs insist on being Auto. When the sensor on the top detects too little light, the LEDs will come On. There is no way to turn it off.

These stupid LED lights are blinding me! They are regular white LED used in torches, not the InfraRed type. The Vimicro chip does well enough under low light, I don’t think it needs the LED, but I don’t want to physically cripple the hardware to disable it.

Now I can only use the webcam in the day time. At night, I use it as a lamp for the keyboard! I am still hunting around for a modified driver that allows me to control the LED. Appreciate it if anyone can help. Thanks.

Hola soy peruano. El controlador que vino con mi webcam es: Vimicro USB PC Camera (ZC301PLH) Driver. Éste no me funcionaba. Click derecho y seleccionan actualizar controlador. I bought camera in China. Driver on included CD is for “camera-168″, but after I installed that and plug the camera - it stays as unrecognized “pc camera”.
After I installed Vimicro driver- system recognizes camera, but can not get it to work (blank picutre).

I am having trouble installing the disc which came with my web cam. the version is “web camera for 6241″ (product driver V1.1). The instruction sheet told me to insert the disc and open driver directory then double click driver when set up should appear. However, set up does appear but does not open.

    Rivrics // June 4th, 2006 at 6:34 pm

Man, I just managed to installed the driver for the Vimicro USB PC ZC0301PLH version. But the image is so blurred… Can’t exactly figure out what’s wrong?

Did I use the wrong driver? I installed the driver from the disc provided with the ordinary “windows prompt’. The disc provided has so many versions of driver and I tried some which were wrong as I couldnt even operate the web cam. After that, I tried through “windows prompt” (ie: usually when a new hardware is found, pop up would appear to guide through searching for the driver and installing it). In the process, a file “USBVM31B” is required and is available in the zipped file provided. Hence I conveniently copied the file. Now the camera is working (yeah!) but I see only blurry images. Definitely clear at all. Help Help

    Tom // June 5th, 2006 at 5:35 am

For those of you with blurred image, you need to adjust the lens to focus on the subject. To do this, simply turn the ring around the lens gently either clockwise or anti-clockwise.

    Good luck!

It’s a security mode you need to disable or lower the paranoia of.
In theory you should still be able to install it even though Windows will not verify it, which it never will, because Windows is ridiculous like that.

    Before –> VID_0AC8&PID_0302.DeviceDesc VID_0ac8&Pid_302.DeviceDesc
After -> VID_0ac8&Pid_302.DeviceDesc I only changed big letters to small letters; now it works perfect !
I can`t put the hole text of the .inf file here; it is too long. So you must do it by yourself. When it is not working automatically, you must go to the system/hardware/pc camera/characteristics ,install new hardware and choose the new inf file and reboot ! ( so i have done )
Excuse my english i am from germany !

Hi, I’m using the same cam, have found a couple of drivers online, but none of them are being recognised by the camera (including the one here). Running XP sp2 - am I missing something?

This driver is a 32 bit drivers for XP , can SOMEBODY please find a x64 driver for vista?

    Andrew // February 6th, 2007 at 10:23 pm

Hi! Does this driver work on Vista(32)? Vista recognises VMicroCam as some other type of web camera and has no driver for it. No link found inGoogle either.

    Maja // February 6th, 2007 at 10:28 pm

Andrew and Arnold - It will not be updated for Vista as Vista is still relatively new and the firm no longer produces this particulary webcam.
